The history of Britannia Row
Britannia Row is one of the longest established and best known names in the audio recording world; first set up in the mid 70's by The Pink Floyd, the studio has been involved with some of the best known and loved records of the last 30 years . Names such as The Pink Floyd, Joy Division, Pulp, Soul to Soul, Sinead O'Connor, Julian Cope, Page and Plant, Snow Patrol, The Verve, Embrace, Supergrass, Lemar and Leona Lewis have all made significant recordings with us.
While the level of equipment and the excellence of the rooms are a given with top level recording facilities, the other vital factors are ambience and staff. The management have the combined experience of over 50 years in the recording industry and the engineers have all received the benefit of this in their training while bringing their own enthusiasm and youth into the mix.
Accustomed as we are to working with some of biggest names in music, the changed nature of the industry means that new artists are not often funded by record labels in the early stages of their career, resulting in many more self-funded projects coming our way. This is hugely popular with our engineers who find a freedom and level of enthusiasm in these sessions that has brought a breath of fresh air into this business.
As the music business evolves so does Britannia Row; we bring the same enthusiasm and expertise and give the same warmth of welcome as when the studio first opened it's doors 33 years ago.
