January 2010:Killer New Year
2009 finished on a real high with two very intense album projects. The end of November saw industrial legends KILLING JOKE record their new album in 16 straight days of high intensity tracking. Assistants Davide Venco and John Cox were afforded an insight into recording as it used to be! The results are stunning and this will be one of the major releases of 2010.

November 2009:One from the archives
Stephen Court, one of the designers of the first incarnation of Brit Row, sent us this pic of the original control room c. 1976. If anyone knows the whereabouts of the MCI console please let us know. Please note the rare as hen's teeth Gelf Phase unit under the Revox, one of a pair still in our control room today.

We have had an incredible amount of talent, both established and unsigned, through the doors over the last few months, dispelling the sense of gloom that pervaded the beginning of the year with talk of recession and piracy; onwards and upwards!

We've recently acquired a shed-load of interesting vintage mics. Dynamics, ribbons, crystals - you name it! Many of them are U.S. mics not often seen in the U.K. We now have such a variety that you can track a whole session with mics from just about any decade you choose! Studio 1 Update
